Step Screens

Step Screen for screening from 2 to 6mm

Comarco has been designing installations and installing step screens in the US since 1997. Not only do we have a long history of experience installing step screens in municipal waste water applications but we were the first in the US to use step screens in industrial applications such as paper mills.

Because of this long history we are well known for our step screen expertise. This expertise is the main reason for our choice of the PROSTEP step screen as the step screen to market in the US. Our experience has exposed us to what it takes mechanically for a step screen to stand up to the rigors of a municipal and especially industrial applications. The PROSTEP design has addressed and improved upon many of the design weaknesses found in other step screens:

The Step Screen type PROSTEP is the result of 30 years of screening expertise.

More than an innovative step screen, the PROSTEP has been developped to meet the highest expectations from the operators.

The Step Screen PROSTEP has been designed to offer a reliable and efficient screening solution, while minimizing the operation and maintenance costs.

An FB Procédés innovation: 100% of the submerged parts are made of stainless steel, avoiding the use of plastic spacers. Plastic spacers are expensive and not reliable. Thanks to the use of stainless steel spacers, the Step Screen PROSTEP has an extended lifetime, and much lower maintenance costs.

The unique design of the screens blades has been optimized to greatly improve the lifting of the debris, to avoid debris from falling back into the channel.

Last but not least, the screen of the Step Screen PROSTEP uses a unique technology to minimize head loss, which is one of the main concerns of the operators.
